Qns: What is the growth I have experienced in the past 3 months? What is the major challenge I felt I have to overcome for the next 3 months to bring me closer to my goals?

Ans:
Hmm... Growth? Good question. I have experience to
communicate (to articulate the maths formula to my team
members) and to be able to do simple sum using excel
(although I hate to use excel). These are the growth I
think I have experienced in the past 3 months.
I think there are still some more challenges that I will
need to overcome in the next 3 months. These are the
following things that I think I need to overcome, to be
able to concentrate during discussion time and to be
able to stay awake. I find it difficult to concentrate
during discussion time with so much games that I can
play on facebook. I am trying my best to cut down as
much as I can, with the help of my friends reminding me
that I need to do work and stop playing facebook. As for
staying awake, I think it will be good for me to sleep
early.
I am still trying to have good management for my time,
but it is difficult. With all interest group starting
and with competition coming up soon, it is difficult for
me to concentrate in class as I tend to sleep late in
order to complete my RJ.
I think my time management is really terrible. I think I
need create a time table or what so ever to stay focus
in doing my things on time. If I am able to complete my
things on time and doing it with perfection, I believe
that I will be able to concentrate in class.
This are the two major challenge I felt I have to
overcome for the next 3 months to bring me closer to my
goals.

Qns: Quote from Albert Einstein “Imagination is more important than knowledge.” What is your view point about this quote in relation to your experience?

Ans:
I think that both knowledge and imaginations are
important. I think that both knowledge and imagination
are interlinked. These two are inseparable.

We gained knowledge so that we can understand the world
that we are living in. We gained more and more knowledge
so that we can understand our surrounding better.
Scientists need this knowledge to create drugs and to
invent things that make the world an even better place.
Artist need to know how to mix colour and to have the
ability to draw the landscape. Scientist and artist
cannot just survive with only knowledge. They need
imagination. Some things such as chemistry, physic, art
and music do not survive solely on knowledge. They need
the help of imagination to make things happen. Art, with
a little knowledge on how colour could mix with each
other and with a little imagination, kaboom! It is a
miracle! Music, with the knowledge on how each notes
sounded and how each notes mixed to make a perfect song
or tune. Therefore I say that imagination and knowledge
are inseparable.

Qns: What is the daily grade you would give yourself for today’s performance? How would you justify for this grade for yourself?

Ans:
Today I would grade myself with a B. I believed that I
have done my best during the discussion session.
During discussion session, I put in extra effort to
teach and to understand what the worksheet question is
asking about. Not only so, I am still trying very hard
to learn to communicate with my team members. I am
still not used in thinking aloud and therefore find it
hard to tell people how I think.

I would say that today I have a slight improvement
from before as I am able to share and teach my friends
better. I believe that I could get better. Therefore
having a B would be better as this will make me to
work more and more toward my goal.

I am tried my best to listen during presentation.
Many of us are falling asleep. I am one of them. I
will try harder next time in keeping myself awake. I
have forgotten to bring sweets today. Maybe need some
sugar rush. Haha.

Qns: Quote by Lou Holtz “ABILITY is what you're capable of doing. MOTIVATION determines what you do. ATTITUDE determines how well you do it.” Reflecting on your learning experience today, what would you say about your ABILITY, MOTIVATION and ATTITUDE?

Ans:
I think today, my concentration level is slightly much
better than the past few weeks. I think that I am able
to absorb more.

My ability is to teach my classmate when we calculate
the “parallel world”. The ability to understand what
my facilitator trying to teach was just amazing. It
was as if something just click and everything was in
place. Suddenly the question seems to be much more
easier than I first thought. With the “I can do it”
attitude that I have and with the motivation of my
result, I was able to teach and solve the solution.
Although the answer that we gave wasn’t the model
answer, but I believe that so long I put in the effort
and apply what I have learn into the things that I do.
I believe that I have learnt and I have gain something
back.
I would say that today, even though I still play games
and doing things that is not suppose be done in class,
I have at least tried to not play games during the
presentation until when the presentation gets more and
more dull, I then used games to keep me awake. Tried
using sweets too, but it did not work out the way that
well. I am glad that using my ability to teach,
understanding and valuing what my team member say have
make the learning a joy rather than a chore. And I
strongly believe that my grade also affected my
learning attitude toward math. I have never thought
that I would have gotten a B+ since most of my daily
grades are like Ds a few Cs and only one B. This
greatly got me to think what about the attitude that I
am going to put when I am in class. Therefore I think
my attitude toward my study need to be improve so as
to be able to absorb more in class and improve my
daily grade.

Qns: In what way have I helped others to understand better today?

Ans:
I helped my team members to understand when they are
in confusion. There was a number of times that my team
members do not understand what the question was
talking about, but after my explanation, they were
able to understand and apply what was explained.

By explaining and doing the question, I was able to
helped others to understand better today.

Qns: What are the characteristics of a dream team for your learning in RP? What role would you play in such a team?

Ans:
The characteristics of a dream team for my learning in
RP are enthuastic and team effort.

I will play a role of members. I like to be part of
the team rather then to be a leader. I like to be
focus on doing things my way and thus when I am a
member, I will not need to be worried about how people
thinks about me and how they see.

Qns: Oprah Winfrey, one of the top TV Host in US, said "... Not only are you responsible for your life, but doing the best in this moment puts you in the best place for the next moment". What have I done best today to take responsibility of my own learning?

Ans:

I do not quite understand my learning so I would ask my
friends and other teams so as to understand. I think I
have struggled for very long and finally I understand
how the excel works, I am so happy. The moment I can
finish doing the problem statement, I am happy and glad
that I succeeded in understanding. With a few hiccups on
the way to the understanding, I am JUBILANT! =)

Qns: What challenge do I face when communicating my ideas to other people? How can I overcome them?

Ans:
I think I only face some problems when it comes to
communicating my ideas to other people only apply for
Maths and Science.

This is because the ideas/formulas that I have in my
brain may not be logical or understandable for the other
team mates to know. I am so used in doing maths/science
questions alone and only ask help when there is a need
to do so. So I think most of time, I may seem to be not
concentrating in class but I am actually spending more
time digesting on what the concept behind the use of
excel or maths rather than solving it on the spot. I
would rather solve the maths question at home then in
school.

I guess that the only way to overcome this is to force
myself think and speak aloud. It will usually takes me a
very long time before I would exercise it or do it
naturally. I will try my very best in helping my team
mates more by speaking aloud of my thoughts. Even today
during presentation, I am only doing the introduction
part, I have learn and understand what was going on in
class and that is one way that I allow my team mates to
be more independent and not just rely on one person to
complete the thing. Today I have seen more teamwork
effort rather than one person's effort. =)

Qns: What are the evidences I have to support one of the items I rated the LOWEST and one that I rated HIGHEST in my self-evaluation for today’s participation?

Ans:
I rated my 'making reference to something I read to
support or refute an idea' the highest. This is because,
I was able to come out with a solution that is relevant
to the topic. I came back slightly later thus I have eat
and do work at the same time. Therefore having no idea
how much they have done, I decided to asked them and
seek ways to help them as much as I can. But to my
surprise, they were still stuck at the same problem
before I leave.

Thus, I tried my best to understand the problem
statement and explain to my team mates as much as I can
and as what I know. After all the explanation, my team
members still don't quite know what is the answer to it.
I helped them with the solution that I think might me
right, which is to come up with Plan IV. This is because
I felt that to help them I have to give them some idea
on how to solve the problem statement. By using
“Graphmatica” program, I was able to give them some
idea, and then which spark off the idea on how to get
the overall answer. Even though they were still confused
at some point, but they were glad that at least it makes
some sense rather than some weird numbers that doesn’t
makes any sense.

I rated, “Saying what I wanted to say clearly” because I
felt that I wasn’t able to get my point across as easily
as I thought. It took much longer than expected to allow
my team members to understand what was going on and
explaining the pointers and solutions to my team mates.
I wasn’t able to speak their ‘language’ which means I
tend to used my own terms to answer their questions and
when I am giving them my ideas.

I hope that I will work on learning to speak in a terms
that they will understand and thus allowing them to
grasp the idea quicker than today. Today’s performance
was slightly not up to standard as compared to last week
since we were spending more time struggling on the
problem statement. If problem statement could have more
improvement. Let’s say about the audience, I felt that
if audience are more narrowed down, I think my team
would have done much better in term of presentation and
completing our powerpoint slide on time.

I was at the same time was at the verge of giving up,
even though to most, I am someone who won’t give up that
easily. This is something that I think it hinders me
from giving my full potential. I know I cannot that too
much stress, like in today’s case, I felt that I almost
wanted to cry. In this world there is nothing called
perfect, therefore even though we wish for perfection,
there is none. I hope to encourage myself with this.

Qns: What is it that I enjoyed about my learning experience today? How have I contributed to such experience?

Ans:
I enjoyed learning that Math can be so fun. I did not
know that Math can be that interesting. Through today's
lesson, I was able to understand and apply it when the
questions are asked. Most of the time, when I am to
handle Math questions, I would do it in a reluctant way,
with a lot of complain. But through today's lesson, I
was able to grasp and apply it.

I have managed to explain what is going on in class to
my group members without trouble. My group mates were
able to understand what is going on and that is
something that I felt was the best thing to do. Reason?
It is because I am always unable to explain what happen
in class. That is what I am proud of. =)
